Window Perches & Bird TV: Keeping Cats Entertained
Cats may act chill, but trust—they need stimulation to stay happy and healthy. And what better way to do that than giving them front-row seats to nature’s most exciting drama: Bird TV. Yep, a cozy window perch + a view of birds, squirrels, and whatever else is flapping or scampering outside is basically kitty heaven.
Start by picking a sunny window with a decent view. You can grab a suction-cup perch that sticks right to the glass, or go DIY with a shelf and some soft padding. Make sure it’s sturdy—cats will launch themselves onto it like furry missiles. Add a little fleece or faux fur blanket, and boom, instant luxury suite.
To level up the entertainment, place a bird feeder just outside the window. Nothing too close—you don’t wanna scare the birds off—but close enough that your cat can keep a fascinated eye on the action. Trust me, they’ll sit there for hours, chirping and tail-twitching like they’re running their own wildlife news network.
Rotate toys nearby and occasionally swap the perch blanket so it stays fresh and interesting. Bored cats get into trouble, but a good perch setup? It’s like free babysitting.
They’ll love it—and honestly, you’ll love watching them love it.
